Gavrilov-Yam is located 46 km from Yaroslavl’. Population: 17 800. A major employer is the machine-building plant “Agat” JSC. In the past Gavrilov-Yam was famous for its linen factory. This one was found by merchant Lokalov in the 1870s. It was the only factory in Russia produced artist’s canvases in the 2000s. Nowadays the factory doesn’t work. Gavrilov-Yam is included in the tourist rout “The Golden Ring of Russia”.
